Where Have I Been?

私はどこにいたか。 Sigh. I think there's really something wrong with me. I have a heavy-heart. I feel this strange emptiness. I feel like I've not been able to complete something. Why. Sigh. I don't know, I am so confused but I have no idea what the reason is. I only know, right now, I am avoiding people. I am honestly avoiding contact with people. All SMS, all calls, all msn. Even when I do receive an sms, I only lie to myself that I'm not replying cos' it's a waste of $ but, deep down I know, I'm just avoiding people. I don't know why. Don't ask me. No, I'm fine. Things between Randy and I have smoothen out. Maybe I've still alot more to learn and grow. Perhaps I'm still so immature that I don't even know what's what.
Sigh.
I think I will have to post in my private blog soon. Perhaps most of my future posts will be there. I just need an outlet for my thoughts and feelings. I don't want people to judge me, I don't want people to make fun of me. I really appreciate the friends who do care about what's going on in my life though. Really, thank you guys so much -huggles-
I will be praying for some people. Illnesses are part of life. Don't let the illness deter you. (:

A Poll, Prayer & Some Humour

Okays. So Mummy & I have been picking out Biblical names for the past 4-5 hours. Grrr. We haven't conculded on one to name my dearest Yan but we managed to narrow the choices down. So here it is:
Jason : He that cures; Jehovah the healer.
Jaden : Jehovah has heard. A Biblical name.
Jovan : Father of the sky, Serbian form of John - meaning "God is gracious."

Please help me out with this poll! You can find it on the right sidebar.

Some of you might know this... well, Yan is scheduled for an operation to remove an unknown object from his nose next Monday 29 Sep 08. Just this morning, he woke up with pyjama top covered with blood stains. Last night, his whole face towel was covered with it as well and he smartly washed the towel on his own so that we (Mummy & I) won't know or worry about him. *sigh* It's his nosebleed again. I want to ask that everyone pray along with me for a successful operation and speedy recovery for my 6 and a half yr old bro.

Dear Lord,
I offer this prayer to you, that You may lay your hands on my little brother and heal him. Please shower your love and tenderness on him at this time so that he will not be afraid. Lord, please give him blessings of immunity as we cannot afford any complications for the surgery. Thank you, Lord, for everything You have done for me. Thank you for the blessings in my life, for the supportive friends and loving family. Please continue to watch over my family and I. I ask this in Jesus' most might name. Amen.

Thanks to all who joined me in prayer (:

Filipino Signs of Wit
The words in brackets are kinda point-blank explanations for the joke.

* A 24-hour restaurant called Doris Day & Night (Nemo's "Doris")

* Barber shop called Felix The Cut (Felix The Cat)

* A bakery named Bread Pitt (Brad Pitt, Hollywood hunk)

* Fast-food place selling 'maruya' (banana fritters) called Maruya Carey (Mariah Carey)

* A video rental shop called Leon King Video Rental (Lion King)

* A restaurant in Cainta district of Rizal called CaintackyFried Chicken (Kentucky Fried Chicken aka KFC)

* A local burger restaurant called Mang Donald's (McDonald's)

* A doughnut shop called MacDonuts (McDonald's)

* A shop selling 'lumpia' (egg roll) in Makati called Wrap and Roll

* And two butcher shops called Meating Place and Meatropolis

Smart travelers can decipher what may look like baffling signs to unaccustomed foreigners by simply sounding out the 'Taglish' (ThePhilippine version of English words spelled and pronounced with a heavyFilipino accent such as:

* At a restaurant menu in Cebu "We hab sopdrink in can an inbatol" [translation: We have soft drinks in can and in bottle].

There are also many signs with either badly chosen or misspelled words but they are usually so entertaining that it would be a mistake to 'correct' them like...

* In a restaurant in Baguio City, the 'summer capital' of thePhilippines: "Wanted: Boy Waitress"
* On a highway in Pampanga: "We Make Modern Antique Furniture"

* In a Baguio grocery: "Fresh Frozen Chicken Sold Here"

* On the window of a photography shop in Cabanatuan: "We Shoot You While You Wait"

* on a Flower shop in Rizal Avenue: "We Sell Artificial Fresh Flowers" (which probably means, artificial flowers that look fresh)

* And on the glass front of a cafe in Panay Avenue in Manila :"Wanted: Waiter, Cashier, Washier."

Some of the notices can even give a wrong impression such as:

* A shoe store in Pangasinan which has a sign saying: "We Sell Imported Robber Shoes" (these could be the 'sneakiest' sneakers, LOL.)

* A rental property sign in Jaro reads: "House For Rent, Fully Furnaced" (it must really be hot inside!)

* Occasionally, one could come across signs that are truly unique - if not altogether odd. City in southern Philippines whichsaid: "Adults: 1 peso; Child: 50 centavos; Cadavers (corpse): fare subject to negotiation. "

* European tourists may also be intrigued to discover two competing shops selling hopia (a Chinese pastry) called Holand Hopia and Poland Hopia - which are owned and operated by two local Chineseentrepreneurs, Mr. Ho and Mr. Po respectively - (believe it or not!)

* Some folks also 'creatively' redesign English to be more efficient. The creative confusion between language and culture leads to more than just simple unintentional errors in syntax, but in the adoption of new words,' says reader Robert Goodfellow who came across a sign... "House Fersallarend' (house for sale or rent). Why use five words when two will do?

According to Manila businessman, Tonyboy Ongsiako, there is so much wit in the Philippines because "We are a country where a goodsense of humor is needed to survive." We have a 24-hour comedy show here called the government and a huge reserve of comedians made up mostly of politicians and bad actors. Now I ask you where else in the world would one want to live?

Lol. So much jokes for you today! Hope you enjoy! :D Remember to scroll down for more ^.^ Alternatively, use the label "humour".

I received this hilarious e-mail last week! It was forwarded about 6 times before I received it.

What to Say If You Get Caught Sleeping at Your Desk

1. They told me at the blood bank this might happen.

2. This is just a minute power-nap like they raved about in the last time management seminar/workshop you sent me to.

3. I wasn't sleeping! I was meditating on the mission statement and envisioning a new paradigm for our company!

4. This is one of the seven habits of highly effective people!

5. Someone must've put decaf in the wrong pot.

6. Boss! Why did you interrupt me? I had almost figured out a solution to our biggest problem.

7. Amen.

Financial Problems...

Mummy's mental state is deteriorating. She goes into depression more often these days. The doctor at the Institute of Mental Health has prescribed her with some medicative drugs to stabilise her nerves. These are non-standard drugs and they cost $72 for 2 weeks. On top of that, due to Mummy's severe asthma and low blood pressure, she is required to take a special type of medication that costs about $150/mth.

I will update this post with the name of these medications.

My income is $750/mth - $600 of which comes from rental to my tenants and we are receiving financial aid to cover costs for electricity and water supply. However, Medifund is unable to cover the costs for Mummy's medication as they are non-standard drugs.

I am currently struggling to maintain the family and cover costs for additional expenditure such as my internet bill, groceries, etc and I am always short of cash. I've discussed this with some of my close friends from overseas and they suggested that I focus on advertising my digital products made for the 3D Messenger service - IMVU. In this manner, I can hopefully encourage more people to join the community as well as make them aware of my designs. Perhaps they will lend me their support by purchasing my products. I'm not really sure if I should do this because it seems that IMVU is not very popular or approachable in Singapore.

They also suggested that I add a "Donation" link on my blog so that others can donate to me through Paypal. Again, I have no idea if this is a good thing to do because I am not an organisation and the funds donated will solely and directly help my family and I.

I'd like to hear my readers' take on this matter. (: Please post your feedback on my tagboard or email me.

Thanks for reading (:
